Repetitive strain (RSI)

From a niggling wrist to desk-related tension, we can help with the aches and discomfort caused by repetitive everyday movements.

When the same movement starts to take its toll

Repetitive strain injury (RSI) can build up gradually from repeated movements, overuse, or sustained poor posture - often from desk work, manual tasks, or hobbies that involve the same motion again and again - or a knock or bump that renders muscles unable to cope with otherwise normal activities.

Chiropractic care may help with discomfort in the joints, muscles and surrounding tissues caused by repetitive strain, particularly where it affects the neck, shoulders, arms or wrists, knees, shins and feet.

We may be able to help such things as:

  • Aching or stiffness from repeated movements
  • Discomfort linked to desk work or manual tasks
  • Tension that builds up over the working day
  • Wanting practical advice to help prevent recurring strain

What causes RSI?

It’s usually linked to repeated movements, overuse or sustained poor posture – often from desk work, manual tasks or repetitive hobbies. Often there’s been a knock to the affected area that renders muscles unable to cope with otherwise normal activities.

Will I need to stop what I’m doing?

Not necessarily – we’ll advise on practical changes and pacing alongside your treatment.

How soon could I be seen?

We usually have same-day appointments. Call us to check the next available times or book online. If you can’t find a treatment time that suits you, phone the clinic and our reception team will try to accommodate you.
